Dr. Gaby Nowak

Gaby is very passionate about Osteopathy and her approach to treatment, pain relief and musculoskeletal health reflects this in her patient care and management.

Her academic and continual professional development qualifications include a Bachelor of Osteopathic Science and Bachelor of Applied Science from RMIT, Clinical Educator at Victoria University ,training in Trigger Point Dry Needling for Pain Management and Sports Injury, osteopathic management of thoracic, gastrointestinal, lower back and pelvic girdle pain and is a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association.  She is also currently completing an advanced Pilates teaching through the Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA).

She specialises in patient care using both structural osteopathy” and “cranial osteopathy”,     treating ALL ages from newborn to the elderly – and enjoys helping patients with conditions that may include;

  • Pregnancy and postnatal care,
  • treatment of newborn babies and children,
  • headaches, neck pain and associated postural strains
  • Lower back and pelvic girdle pain including acute and chronic disc issues, sciatica and arthritis
  • Sports injuries
  • and complex musculoskeletal complaints

Gaby also has a strong interest in postural health, rehabilitation and core strength. Her aim is to incorporate osteopathic treatment and Pilates to focus on rehabilitation, specific to pain, posture and sports related injuries, strains or enhancing performance.

Continual patient confidence, positive results and feedback and ongoing referrals, all complement Gaby’s approach to treatment and personalised and individualised patient care.


Dr.Catherine Curtain


Catherine is an integral member of the St Kilda Osteopathy team. Her approach to patient care and practice is complete. Catherine completed her double degree in Osteopathy at Victoria University, with her successful Master’s degree investigating Patient Perceptions of Clinic Environments.

Catherine particularly enjoys treating headaches and neck pain, all types of sporting injuries - including dance, as well as pregnancy related pain. She is also experienced in treating chronic low back pain and neck pain and likes to promote general wellbeing with good nutrition and exercise regimes. Catherine has also completed qualifications in Trigger Point Dry Needling for Pain Management and Sports Injury, as well as Fundamentals of Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.

Dr. John Hilditch

With over 30 years of “hands-on” manual therapy experience, John has a great understanding and appreciation of the body, and aims to optimise the health and well-being of all his patients. He is very passionate about osteopathy after selling his thriving engineering business to take on a new career. John gains great satisfaction and enjoys treating patients of all ages.

John graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Clinical Science and a Masters of Health Science. John is also qualified and uses Neuromuscular Dry Needling and is a Level 2 sprint coach.

John has treated many amateur and professional athletes in varied sports; he has previously worked, and is currently involved with teams and individuals from local to international levels.

He is still very active in track and field athletics competing in both professional and Masters Athletics throughout Australia and overseas. He also coaches a group of track athletes both directly and through correspondence. John understands the demands placed on young athletes, elite athletes and all in between!!

John’s aims include passing on advice and knowledge to help all his patients understand the demands placed on their bodies and the best management for optimising their peak performance and activities of daily life.

John will be starting work at St Kilda Osteopathy from August 2011.

Dr. Rebecca Prenc

Rebecca is extremely enthusiastic about Osteopathy and enjoys treating a diverse range of conditions and individuals.

Rebecca completed both her Bachelor of Clinical Sciences and Masters degree in Osteopathy at Victoria University, with her Masters investigating the awareness and attitudes of Maternal and Child Health Nurses to CAM therapies and Osteopathy.  Rebecca has also completed a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Food Science and Nutrition from Deakin University.  She also is a qualified in Neuromuscular Dry Needling.

Rebecca has experience working in the fitness industry and in the corporate sector.

Rebecca enjoys playing indoor soccer in her spare time, and therefore understands the stresses that particular sports can put on the body, giving her an advantage when treating not only athletes, but also in helping individuals who are looking to start creating a more active lifestyle.

Her interests include promoting health and wellbeing for the older population as well as providing a holistic approach to patient care for all individuals.

Dr. Mark Sloam

Dr Mark Sloam is a fully qualified and registered osteopath that trained in the UK. A dedicated family man, Mark brings that passion, caring approach  and vast and varied experience with him in providing a great experience and fantastic results which he tailors to best suit his patients.

While Mark treats a whole variety of conditions, including neck pain, back pain and headaches, Mark’s particular interests include; jaw pain, chronic hip & shoulder problems, plus rehabilitation.

Mark’s patients often tell him that, nobody else they have seen before treats like him. Mark puts that down to his approach that osteopathy is as much creating balance in your body as treating the presenting condition.
