Dr. Alicia Tye-Smith
Alicia was led to study osteopathy through her own sporting experiences (including many injuries), having competed at a national level in track and field for over 10 years. The idea that the body could be treated as a ‘whole’ through long, detailed consultations, which included both joint manipulations and soft tissue work, was very appealing as a competing athlete.
Alicia has been a manual therapist now for over 9 years. She has a particular interest in treating sports injuries (including junior athletes) and rehabilitating and writting strength programs for particular conditions and injuries. Alicia also has an interest in treating patients with Pelvic Instability and back pain through pregnancy.
Alicia has done further studies in the areas of: Clinical Pilates, level one Strength & Conditioning Coaching, myofascial pain, low back pain rehabilitation, dry needling, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics. She has also completed an NLP Practitioner and Eriksonian Hypnosis course.
